Dates are the food of the Prophet’s city — the Sunnah way to open a fast and the first thing offered to guests. A box distributed in the Haram feeds fasting worshippers, tired pilgrims and everyone in between.
Distribution runs around the two Holy Mosques, especially at iftar time. It is one of the simplest gifts to give and one of the most instantly received.
